English Language Services

Language Instruction for New Canadians (LINC)

The Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society was unique in Canada as the only Indigenous organization providing services to immigrants. We operated four English language instruction classes at eight levels to help immigrants to settle in Canada. LINC classes help students speak and understand English for day-to-day life, get job skills, learn about Canadian life, Indigenous cultures, laws, health care, and to obtain their language requirements for citizenship. The program includes volunteering in the community, and field-trips within the Okanagan Valley.

This program has now been moved/transferred to KCR Community Resources at 620 Leon Ave, Kelowna, BC.
